The event was great! Amazing Artwork & a good time. The Raffle raised over $500 The Art Auction raised over $1000. Surprise Guest Artist Bigfoot came through and donated a framed print. Also thanks to additional sponsors that didn't make it onto the flyer XXX Skateboards, Diamond Dist. , Force Trucks. We raised over a truckload of concrete, look forward to some new sections to skateboard for the park this summer. Thanks for your support!

A little defining of the "SKATE ARMY" is probably in order.

The SKATE ARMY is the group of hardcore skateboarders that have forgotten that skateboarding was supposed to be a fad; just another phase in their lives. The skate army is stationed wherever skateboarding exists, be it oppressed or accepted. It is compiled of soldiers that are down for the cause of skateboarding for the sake of riding a skateboard. Paying dues are mandatory; getting paid is rarely an option.

Dig It!

The ground forces, that were armed with shovels and picks and wheelbarrowed the dug dirt out of the descending hole, rifled through in their own separate platoons. Several groups of skaters gathered together for the sake of having a new place to ride. Work was never so much fun. Good friends, good vibes, a couple of beers, and launch ramps for the wheelbarrows to get the dirt into the dirt dumpsters kept the morale high for the forces on hand to focus on the mission at hand. Digging by hand a nine foot deep hole that will have a ten foot radius can still take a while, no matter how many soldiers you have enlisted in your work force. Sweat and blood and beer of the SKATEARMY assaulting.

WE ARE STREET SKATE SOLDIERS.
OUR ENEMY IS SKATEABLE TERRAIN.
WE GO ON RECONNAISSANCE MISSIONS TO FIND NEW ENEMIES TO DESTROY.
WE USE GUERRILLA TACTICS, SCOPING OUT, OFFICE AND WAREHOUSE
COMPLEXES, JUMPING FENCES, BOLT CUTTERS, HACK SAWS, WAX,
CHECKING OUT CREEKS AND IRRIGATION SYSTEMS, PEEKING INTO BACK YARDS ECT.
ONCE WE LOCATE OUR ENEMY WE EITHER ATTACK IMMEDIATELY OR WE
START PLOTTING THE RIGHT TIME TO ATTACK. OBSERVING OFFICE HOURS,
HOURS AND IF THERE ARE GUARDS OR NOT……THE HUNT IS HALF THE FUN.
ONCE WE’VE DONE OUR HOMEWORK AND WE FEEL THE TIME IS RIGHT
WE MOVE IN FOR THE KILL AND THE BATTLE IS ON
SOMETIMES WE BATTLE
ALONE,
SOMETIMES WE BATTLE WITH OUR SKATE ARMY.
